Continuous thoughts!

Let us be ourselves, and embrace the universe.

Though, what we are but the minutest dust in comparison.

Let us mitigate the sizes of our Egos and embrace the limitless.

What good is it if it divides us into a billion pieces.

The Contrast at the Taj

Have visited  the Taj a few times, from the time they allowed to visit the real graves to the time when it started turning yellow due to pollution, to the time when Yamuna looks pristine and marble, white. It never stops to amaze, in true sense, you can't keep your eyes off it!

The main gateway in Sikri red stone.

The Mosque

The Guest house which was never used but was built only for the sake of symmetry.

Stark difference between treated and untreated marble, using Mud from Multan.

Luxury

Looking at the western sunlight of the setting Sun, I wonder,
no matter how the day has been,
this time of the evening never disappoints.

Enjoying the daily show of the burning red Sun,
dipping behind the buildings,
from the luxury of the dining room,
I wonder, if this is all that I want.

Harboured Emotions.

Hiding behind mountains of words,
Or dams of silence,
Outbursts of emotions.

Harbouring the electric energy,
Dangerous for sure,
When breached.

Mend the cracks,
For safety,
Secure.

A New Day

The beauty of a new day lies in the mind. Mind which is the procreator of hope, faith, expectations, love, courage and many other emotions that make us all human.

Fall

Leaves, lime green and lemon yellow, waiting patiently for the temperature to drop.
This year September had been unusually warm, delaying the magic show of nature.
But soon the show begins, nature adorns its most vibrant attire.

Appearance of leaves change from sparkling sunshine yellows to bright oranges.
The royal blood red deepen to sophisticated maroons. Finally resting at rusts and browns before they kiss the Earth.

Falling gently to the ground, one leaf over another, one at a time, slowly, meticulously. Leaving the tree bare.
Rising to form heaps of leaves' mountains.

Forests transform into chaos of colours, clear blue water bodies reflecting the magic.
Enhancing the effect.

Leaves breathing their last breaths, trees shedding them, saying goodbyes, letting go!
One of its kind farewell, so amazing, so breathtaking.

September

Bunches of red, contrasting with greens of leaves.
Little flower umbrellas, sheltering insects from grieves.

Cool September breeze, giving respite from the heat.
Making flowers blossom, getting ready for Autumn greet.

Veteran leaves turning yellow, saying goodbyes, ready to let go.
Magic of Autumn hiding within each fold, forests waiting to transform in motion slow.

Monsoon 7

Brilliant white surfaces when washed with rain water.
With just a hint of yellow to break the monotony.

Facing ,turning towards the Sun.
Soaking up the warmth after a wet humid spree.

Dragon fly resting peacefully, unaware of the beauty around it.
Green leaves, waiting for their turn to take center stage.

Strokes of Nature

The wind swirls the clouds in the sky like master strokes of an artist.
The trees reach up to the sky to catch the candy floss in the making.
Gray hair of a lady blowing in the air.
Chiffon of a bride trailing behind her.
Waves in the sky, ocean upside down.
The beauty of nature is surely unbound.

The "lit up" skyline.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

It seemed as if the nature's brush had gone wild mixing colours of dusk with  just a hint of control.
The sky turned blue, grey, pink, purple about to engulf everything in darkness, when the lights "lit up" and the brush stopped!

It paused, amazed at the glitter, the light, the milky whiteness, the shimmering colours, the deep blue of water.
Witnessing merger of God's masterpiece with man's own. Who knew it was possible to paint them together?

They lit up the city, spilled colours in the river. Lights twinkled as if gems  were floating in the water.
The dark pier seemed taken aback with the surge of gold in the river, falling like  melted wax from the lamp posts.

The skyscrapers punctured the dark sky with their raised needles, pushing the blanket of darkness away.
They were the guiding lights for the night, the bejewelled crowns that command respect. The magical torches refusing to douse before sunrise.

Finally the brush abandoned the colours of dusk and began preparing the pallette for twilight  and dawn of another day.

From Inside A Window

Photo Credit Goes To Amit Sharma
The world is out there, inviting you,
accept the challenge, don't just look out the window.

Life is waiting, to be lived, get on with "karma",
live it, don't just sit.

Unlimited sky, calling out to be conquered,
let your soul soar, don't just peep out the corridor.

Leave the safety of the house, venture out,
be done, go help those who don't have one.

Winters are here, pick up those old clothes, don't pack,
give out to those, who don't have a single on their back.

Sipping coffee, sitting on the window sill is not enough,
brave the chill, buy a cup for those who have it rough.

Forget the designer sales in the markets,
cover the shivering homeless with new blankets.

Get up, get out, don't just look out the windows.
be generous, be kind, reduce other's woes.

Skyscrapers

The most striking thing about this photograph is,  it looks like a painting. The buildings are reflecting the colours of the setting Sun in a surreal way. The skyscrapers look like people with their arms up trying to hold the sky. I did not have to write the poem, it came to me.

Like Atlas, they stand tall, holding the sky with their arms.
Like giant chameleons, they change colours, from dawn till dusk with  dancing shadows.
Like diamonds, they glitter, in the neckline of Hudson.
Like warriors, they hold their ground, no matter how the weather.
Winter, Summer, Spring , fall; they have seen  everything and  suffered all.
Clustered together like spears of Gods, are the skyscrapers of New York.

Winter Bloom 2

Winter is a season when  beauty of nature can be seen in the most barren of places. Snow in itself is a mystery. It has the visual capacity to change the most uninteresting landscapes into glorious white magical lands.

The winter chill can make your heart stop and the fresh crisp air revive it as if, new life were pumped into the lungs. Old and young differ in their opinion about the appropriate length of the season. Some  enjoy it to the fullest while some just wish that it were over as soon as it approached.

In warmer regions the winter blooms are like mother nature going wild with a paintbrush. Flowers of all colours, all shapes and sizes scintillate the senses. They keep reminding that no matter how tough the times, one can  reach their maximum potential. They can bloom to the fullest.

It is the season when one learns to endure, learns to wait patiently for better times, learns to hold on to hope. Hope, that Spring is right around the corner.
