Dusk

It's always hard to say goodbye to the source of light,
the one that spreads happiness, joy and delight.

Only hope keeps one going through the night,
waiting for the dawn to break, for morning  bright.

Waiting patiently for the warm sunshine to embrace tight,
the entire existence of one's being, making everything right.

Dusk

A beautiful day drawing to a languid evening. The Sun retiring behind a hill. Preparing itself to rise and illuminate some other part of the world.

Morning Stroll 2

Amber

A huge amber in the making, fossilized resin with tree inside.
Tree resembling a twig, a leaf, branches resembling veins dried.

Precious gemstone waiting to be formed, valued priceless.
Adorning heirlooms of memories, to be passed on to generations.

But only the resin being the golden orange sunlight, but only the amber our world.
The heirloom a morning cherished and saved, in the locker of our hearts impearled.

Strokes of Nature -2

Golden Iris peeping through half open lids, welcoming morning.
Fire in the clouds spreading slowly, giving life.
A knife slitting darkness by sunlight, horizon melting with warmth.
A child's smile through grayness of mood, dawn breaking through clouds.

Sunrise 2

As the Sun rises, the sky turns from black to midnight blue, indigo, purple, pink, peach and orange. In a matter of an hour the sky changes shades of colors as if an artist were experimenting on his canvas with different color palettes.

Urban dawn

There was a time when getting up late was not an option. People got up, got ready and by the time they got out of their homes, they could see the Sun rise in the East. Almost every child had seen the Sun rising and knew by experience where East was. Dawn was something everyone had seen and experienced. The incredible silence, peace and hope that it brings with it cherished by all. One just had to walk outside the home to see the Sun rise.
Today there are adults and children who do not know what dawn actually is, they have not seen the Sun rise and have no idea where it rises from, East yes, but where is East? So the Smart phones come out and East is detected. One has to get on the roof of their buildings or homes to witness the orange ball of fire ascending, otherwise, you cannot see it rising till it is high up in the sky. It seems as if today the Sun rises from behind the buildings rather than from behind the great mountains, the great oceans or from the horizon.
