Harmony

Harmony refers to a combination of elements which please when looked at as a single element. It could be  the harmony of colors, harmony amongst people or universal harmony around us.
Harmony is basically the agreement of elements with each other. When the elements are not in harmony, the effect is either too chaotic and restless or too boring and disengaging.
In the color wheel, harmonious colors are those colors which are related to each other. These colors, when used together produce a soothing effect on eyes as-well-as on the mind. Like using green and blue together exudes a sense of peace and tranquility.
When there is harmony amongst people there is again a sense and ambiance of peace and positivity around them. When there is harmony around us in the world, everyone is happy, content and in touch with their own inner beings. And in understanding with other elements of nature creating a calm environment which is stimulating and engaging.

Urban dawn

There was a time when getting up late was not an option. People got up, got ready and by the time they got out of their homes, they could see the Sun rise in the East. Almost every child had seen the Sun rising and knew by experience where East was. Dawn was something everyone had seen and experienced. The incredible silence, peace and hope that it brings with it cherished by all. One just had to walk outside the home to see the Sun rise.
Today there are adults and children who do not know what dawn actually is, they have not seen the Sun rise and have no idea where it rises from, East yes, but where is East? So the Smart phones come out and East is detected. One has to get on the roof of their buildings or homes to witness the orange ball of fire ascending, otherwise, you cannot see it rising till it is high up in the sky. It seems as if today the Sun rises from behind the buildings rather than from behind the great mountains, the great oceans or from the horizon.

Photo Frame

A Photo frame does not evoke much reaction from anybody. It’s an easy gift. People give it when no other idea strikes them. The one who gets it, looks at it, exclaims and keeps it, may be re-gifts it.

All these reactions take place because at one glance one does not see what it symbolizes. It can transform a room when it frames a painting. It can cheer up a person when it frames the photograph of the loved ones. It brings nostalgia when it frames the memories of the “good old days”.
Grandparents love to show-off new additions to the family when it frames the baby photos of their grandchildren. Addition of new grooms and brides to the family.

It’s not just a photo frame; it is the frame which encompasses the journey of life,  loved ones and  memories which refuse to fade away.

Hanging basket

Today, the size of the apartments are getting smaller and smaller. Single homes have started becoming a luxury as everyone wants to live in the heart of a throbbing city. Gardens and sprawling lawns have almost vanished from the face of homes in the big cities.

Greenery inside or outside the homes have become very difficult to maintain. Still everyone wants to bring some kind of greenery and cheer of nature inside the home. They also want to transport a little bit of their homes outdoors.

Hanging baskets are one of the most appropriate, convenient and easy ways of achieving that. Hang baskets of flowers on the terrace and it brings the extension of your home outside. Hang a basket inside the house and it brings a piece of nature inside the home.

In many cities hanging baskets of flowers are displayed publicly  in the spring season through out the city. They decorate, beautify and cheer up the public. They also showcase the  different varieties of flowers.

Entangled

To be entangled in a situation, in a relationship or in life is something nobody wants. Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that two or more lives entangled with each other are far better than being alone.
The very essence of life is to love, share, care and be bound to someone who is of utmost importance. The fabric of society thrives on the entanglement of people with each other. Without it there would be no relationships. No happiness, no joy. No expectations, no desire, no sorrow, no pain.
These emotions, however, are the ones which make us human.

Chaotic yet serene

Sometimes it happens, even when there is utter chaos everywhere the mind is at peace. The soul is at its calmest. There is sheer joy and contentment in the heart. No matter how chaotic the external environment, the light inside is steady and without a flicker. Serenity envelops the very being of existence and it's good just to be alive.

Cheers!

There are many stories and myths about the origin of the word cheers. The myths are from Ancient Greece, from Germanic tribes, Iran etc.
Some myths and stories tell, how mixing drinks was done only by people who could be trusted. How the host always drank first, to show to the guest that the drink was safe for drinking. Some stories tell, how the cups were clinked to spill the poison from it if any present, and mix the poison into others’. Other stories tell how the cups were clinked to make a sound to scare away ghosts and evils. There are stories about how wine or blood was offered to Gods in return of getting a wish granted.
In English language, the word cheers originally meant face or expression in medieval times. It has been derived from low Latin word “cara’ which meant head. It was first recorded in 13th century. It just meant face or countenance but by 14th century it started being referred to as a joyful expression.
Cheers! Is a toast which is made on joyful occasions, for celebrating something or for honoring someone.
